Cäcilie Rudermann, born in Berlin on December 30, 1917, lived with her mother Johanna Rudermann and her four siblings at Chodowieckistrasse 10. Together with her mother Johanna and her sister Hilda Peritz, she was sent to Barnimstrasse 12 before deportation and was deported to Litzmannstadt on the 4th transport on November 1, 1941.
It can be assumed that her fiancé Rudolf Casper from Chodowieckistrasse 8 voluntarily joined the 4th transport of November 1, 1941 to the Litzmannstadt ghetto in order to accompany his fiancée Cäcilie Rudermann from Chodowieckistrasse 10. As it can be seen from letters and traditions, both of them believed in resettlement.
According to the resettlement sheets of the Litzmannstadt ghetto and the registration card of the Lodz National Archives, Rudolf and Cäcilie were married there on December 9, 1941. Blattbinderstraße 13/7 in the Litzmannstadt ghetto is given as their joint address with their mother Johanna. On May 9, 1942, they were deported to the
Kulmhof extermination camp
and murdered there.
On May 20, 2022, Stolpersteine were laid in front of the two houses at Chodowieckistrasse 8 and 10 in memory of two young people from these two families who fell in love with each other as neighboring children and made plans for a future together.
