Rudolf Casper, born on April 28, 1917 in Posen, lived with his parents Sally and Lene Casper as well as his brother Walter and his wife Ruth at Chodowieckistr. 8. On November 1, 1941 he was deported with the 4th transport to Litzmannstadt.
It can be assumed that Rudolf Casper voluntarily joined his fiancée Cäcilie Rudermann from Chodowieckistraße 10 in the 4th transport of November 1, 1941 to the Litzmannstadt ghetto in order to accompany his fiancée. As it can be seen from letters and records, both of them believed that they would be resettled.
According to the Litzmannstadt ghetto resettlement sheets and the registration card of the Lodz National Archives, Rudolf and Cäcilie were married there on December 9, 1941. The joint address given is Blattbinderstraße 13/7 in the Litzmannstadt ghetto. On May 9, 1942 they were deported to the
Kulmhof extermination camp
and murdered there.
On May 20, 2022, Stolpersteine were laid in front of the two houses at Chodowieckistrasse 8 and 10 in memory of two young people from these two families who fell in love with each other as neighboring children and made plans for a future together.
