Biography
Alexander Herrmann was born on January 28th, 1858, in Stolp. He was deported from Berlin to Theresienstadt on September 21st, 1942. He died there on October 24th, 1942. His wife was Henriette Herrmann (nee Bergmann) who is buried in Berlin-Weißensee Cemetery. Alexander’s grandson, John Hirschberg (nee Hans Hirschberg) describes how his grandfather would keep him company since he knew that John did not like being alone. When John was playing in the street, his grandfather Alexander threw bread from the balcony at 4:00 p.m. because he was afraid John might be hungry.
