Biography
Else Magnus, née Berent, came from Dresden. In 1919 she married Dr. Martin Magnus, a medical practitioner. In 1922 their son Gerd was born. The Magnus family lived in Lankwitz until 1938, when they were forced to move to Bozener Strasse 9 in Schöneberg. Gerd was able to escape to England with a kindertransport.
The only other known fact about Else Magnus is that she and her brothers owned three plots of land in Danzig.
Else Magnus and her husband were deported to Auschwitz on 6 March 1943. Martin Magnus was murdered here on 21 March 1943. The precise date and circumstances of Else Magnus’ death are no longer known.
